"To be able to bring this dream to life and share it with both our wonderful community and the many tourists visiting our region, in such an iconic building, is truly special".
A Local Legacy
The Clock and Bull Brewhouse (& Restaurant) is on the site of the original Black Forest Hill Cuckoo Clock Shop in Cabarlah Queensland Australia.
Honouring the site's history, we'll continue to stock the finest of German clock making craftsmanship.

Over the last 180 years the site of the Clock and Bull Brewhouse and Wild Honey Café has been many things!
Prior to its current day name of Cabarlah, the area was originally known as Five Mile Camp.

Known as Wilke’s (or Wilkes) Hotel before being renamed, the original Farmer's Arms Hotel was located on the site now known as the Clock and Bull Brewhouse.
According to family history, William Wilkes came to the hill where the Clock & Bull Brewhouse is now located on 1 March 1866 and purchased land portion 317, on which you are now standing!
The license for the Farmers Arms Hotel was located on this site from 1876 to 1902 before it sadly burnt down, & was then rebuilt a little further to the north on its current location.
The site which is now known as Wild Honey Café was previously a telegraph office and later became the Highfields Divisional Board Office. Divisional Boards were replaced by Shire Councils in 1903, & are now known as Regional Councils.
In 1902 both buildings were burnt to the ground. The cause was unknown though it was assumed the buildings were struck by lightning.
